General Information


Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) is dedicated to help individuals overcome mental health and substance use disorders, regardless of their ability to pay. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BCRI is continuing its 24-hour crisis Hotline and Mobile Crisis Team, but admissions to their Crisis Residential Unit are operating under limited capacity.

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI por sus siglas en inglés) se dedica a ayudar a las personas a superar los trastornos de salud mental y el uso de sustancias, independientemente de su capacidad de pago. Residential Units (Unidades Residenciales)

About

BCRI staff provides short term residential units, while care coordinators provide linkages to ongoing community recovery services. Clients are admitted to this unit by request or referral and stay an average of 7 days. Doctors, nurses and counselors are available 24/7, providing medication management, counseling, education and support. Case managers provide linkages to primary and behavioral health care, and determine entitlements and other community services. Clients are admitted into the CRU by the Mobile Crisis Team and stay an average of ten days.

Eligibility:

This service is NOT offered to those with PRIVATE health insurance or to registered sex offenders. (Elegibilidad: Este servicio NO se ofrece a personas con seguro médico PRIVADO ni a delincuentes sexuales registrados.)

How to Apply:

Call the hotline and ask for residential units. They will then collect the following information: 1. Name 2. Date of Birth 3. Race/Ethnicity 4. "Are you homeless?" 5. Last four digits of your social security 6. "Do you have insurance?" (This service can only service people without PRIVATE insurance). 7. General questions about medical history including mental health 8. Criminal/Legal history (Registered sex offender are ineligible to receive housing) They will then start a referral to receive a residential unit or for further care. An intake coordinator will then reach out in the next 24 hours. (Cómo solicitor ayuda: Llame a la línea directa y pregunte por las unidades residenciales. About

Via their hotline, BCRI counselors provide mental health and substance use information and referrals, supportive counseling, suicide crisis intervention, and adolescent crisis intervention. They also dispatch emergency assistance and link callers with more intensive BCRI and community services. The Hotline operates as the gateway to BCRI's Mobile Crisis Teams, which include mental health professionals--psychiatrists, social workers and nurses--who are dispatched to any Baltimore City location and provide immediate assessment, intervention and treatment.
