Civic Works has developed the emergency food delivery program to help seniors access food They also offer many other services, including home energy programs, help finding affordable housing, and elder services. Read below for more information.

About

Cities for All Ages is a fall-prevention program which makes homes safer for older adults living in Baltimore City. They provide services to Baltimore residents over the age of 65, including fall prevention information, safety repairs, referrals to supportive services, and occupational therapy. The Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) program can also connect you to home repair resources that improve the quality of your life through accessibility improvements, rehabilitation, weatherization, and environmental hazard remediation. They also offer support services and can connect you to resources. To get started, call the intake line at 443- 470-9871 or email them at HUBSintake@civicworks.com.

Eligibility:

You must be a Baltimore City resident, Aged 65 and older, and be at 80% or below the Baltimore Metro Area Median Income. Call 443- 470-9871 to see if your income qualifies.

Please be aware that this resource tends to run out very quickly. Be sure to call as early as possible on Monday morning to secure your spot. Civic Works will deliver $15 worth of fresh groceries for $5 to adults 55 and older who are unable to access food.
To place an order, call 410-826-5955 and hit 0 on Mondays from 9AM-4PM and leave a voice message including your name, phone number, preferred payment method, and zip code. A member of their team will call you back to confirm your order. If your call is not answered; you will be called back. The food is then delivered on Thursday or Friday of that same week. If they are no longer providing food boxes and you need emergency food services in the meantime, please call the Maryland Access Point at 410-396-2273. Civic Works offers free home upgrades to help reduce your energy bill. After signing up for Civic Works’ services, all customers are eligible for free quick installs. Civic Works will reach out to you and schedule a convenient time for their installation team to visit your household and complete the installations. During the home visit, a Civic Works staff member will replace all inefficient light bulbs with LED light bulbs, provide an advanced power strip, reduce water usage through faucet aerators and low-flow showerheads, and insulate hot water pipes to prevent heat loss. The home visit lasts an average of 30 minutes. You can get started with the application here.
