Civic Works strengthens Baltimore's Communities through service by training people for jobs, make hos safer and more energy efficient, grow food and create community green spaces
Civic Works has developed the affordable produce delivery program to help seniors access food. They also offer many other services, including home energy programs, help finding affordable housing, and elder services. They also run REACH! Partnership School which prepare students for college and careers in Healthcare and Construction.

Home Energy Programs
About
Civic Works offers free home upgrades to help you save energy and lower your electricity bills.
Free Quick Home Energy Install
After signing up, Civic Works will visit your home for a quick 30-minute appointment. They'll:
* Replace old light bulbs with energy-saving LED bulbs * Install a smart power strip * Add faucet aerators and low-flow showerheads to save water * Insulate hot water pipes to keep heat in
Home Energy Upgrades
If you want to do more, Civic Works can help with additional upgrades like insulation and air sealing. They'll check if you qualify for free or low-cost services through grants and rebates.

1.** Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
This program lets you buy a share of fresh produce grown by local farmers. The season runs from May to November, and you can sign up anytime during that period. Each week, you’ll get a box of fruits and vegetables delivered to a nearby pickup spot or your home. The cost is $5 per box, and each box is worth $15 or more. To sign up, visit here.

2. **Affordable Produce Delivery Program
If you're 55 or older and live in Baltimore City, you can get fresh produce delivered right to your door for just $5 per week. Each box is filled with healthy, local fruits and vegetables worth $15 or more. To learn more or sign up, call 410-826-5955 on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or email espence@civicworks.com.

Elder Services
About
The program helps older adults in Baltimore City make their homes safer to prevent falls. This program provides services such as fall prevention information, safety repairs, referrals to supportive services, and occupational therapy.
The Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) program is another program helps older adults by fixing and improving their homes. It connects seniors with services that make their homes safer, easier to move around in, and more comfortable. Some of the things the program helps with include building ramps, fixing damage, keeping the home warm or cool, and removing things that could be harmful to health. Additionally, HUBS offers support services and can connect seniors to other resources.

They also offer Baltimore County Age-Friendly Upgrades for Seniors (BCAUSE). BCAUSE helps older adults who are 65 or older and live in Baltimore County by fixing their homes for free. They also make changes to the home to help people move around more easily and safely. This helps seniors stay in their own homes as they get older and stay healthy and safe. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.

To join, you must be at least 17 years old and be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal resident. You will also need to pass a background check, a check of the sex offender list, and a drug test.
As a Civic Works AmeriCorps member, you will get training, money every two weeks, and an education award you can use for college, trade school, or to help pay back student loans.
Go Solar Program
About
Civic Works also helps homeowners get solar panels to save even more on electricity. They have different programs:
Baltimore Shines: For low-income homeowners in Baltimore City, this program offers free solar panel installation and maintenance. It can save you electric bill. To be eligible: applicants must reside in Baltimore City, own their home, and have a total household income that does not exceed the following: * 1 person: $26,338 * 2 people: $35,770 * 3 people: $45,185 * 4 people: $54,600 * 5 people: $64,015 * 6 people: $73,430 * 7 people: $82,845 * 8 people: $92,260

Solar Co-op: For homeowners in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, and Harford County, this program offers discounted solar panel installation.Civic Works has already made special deals with local workers so the repairs can be done faster and cost less. Apply here and an energy advisor will assist you in the process
Community Solar: If you don't qualify for the other programs, you can still join a community solar project and get credits on your electric bill. This is open to renters and homeowners.

REACH! Partnership School
About
REACH! Partnership helps students get ready for college and jobs in healthcare and construction. When students graduate, they can earn special certificates that let them start working or training as nursing assistants, pharmacy technicians, carpenters, or electricians.
