You can get a free meal, financial assistance, and personal counseling at this location.These services are ran through the Responsive Services Department. They provides a variety of critical needs to Baltimore City communities to promote self-sufficiency and independence. For information on the services please see the link provided here.

Dental Referrals and Support
(Dental Care)About
The Franciscan Center works with the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) Dental Clinic to help pay for emergency dental care. Please call 410-467-5340 and chose option 2 for Client Services for more information and first steps.
The FC helps people get dental care for pulling teeth. They will pay for up to two teeth to be pulled each year, but this might change if they don’t have enough money. To get this help, people must sign up with the FC and make an appointment with the BCHD dental program. Help is available Monday to Thursday on the 2nd floor of the FC from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
FC helps with referrals
Eligibility:
Must be a Baltimore City resident. (If you are not, they can connect you with services outside of Baltimore City.) It is not necessary to have an ID.How to Apply:
The Franciscan Center can provide you with a referral for the Dental Clinic. You then visit the Dental Clinic and they complete the referral. Then, you take the referral back to the Franciscan Center. The center will send a check to cover the care in part or in full.Service Categories
Prepared Meals

The center has daily meals on the 2nd floor of the FC from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM every Monday - Thursday. The center also serves dinner from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can walk in to the center or call ahead if you have questions.

About
The center is allowing mail services , they help by setting up a mailbox an address services. To get mail services, you must register with th FC and give them a USPS “Change of Mailing Address” from any post office, and check their mailbox once a month.
Mail pick-up is 10:00AM to 1:00PM Monday through Thursfay on the 2nd floor.

About
The Center will support people seeking Real Maryland IDs by helping to schedule appointments and paying for the ID. Help is given on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the FC. This help is only given one time in a person’s life.

"To get help with a Maryland State ID, people must sign up with the FC and IAP. They need to bring their original birth certificate, original social security card, and two pieces of mail.Service Categories
Eviction Support
About
The FC gives $250 to help people in Baltimore City who have a court order to leave their home. To get this help, people must sign up with the FC and bring the original court paper (no copies), be listed on the lease, show a photo ID, and bring receipts and promise-to-pay notes. FC helps with the last $250 of the payment. They will also check that bills were paid during the time of the court eviction. This help is only given once in a person’s life and only while money is available.

Eyeglass Support Services
About
The Franciscan Center has partnerships with various eyeglass businesses around Baltimore City. If you need eyeglasses, they are able to pay $70 per year for glasses and additional services. To get help, people must sign up with the FC, make an appointment with Affordable Optics, pay any money they still owe, and bring the receipt back to the FC. Then, the FC will pay the last $70. If they want to go to a different eye doctor, they must ask for permission first. Help is given Monday to Thursday on the 2nd floor from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This help is available once a year. You can call 410-467-5340 and chose option 2 for Client Services for more information and first steps.

Please take your prescription to an eyeglass shop in Baltimore City. Bring a validated estimated cost back to the Franciscan Center. They will then write a check for up to $70 and send it directly to the shop. This offer does not include Walmart or America’s Best.Service Categories
Baby Items
About
The FC helps families get clothes, baby formula, and other things for kids. They work with Sharebaby to help on the 3rd Monday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the FC. People must sign up with the FC and might need to share stories or pictures. Help is given while there are still supplies.
Prescription Support Services

The Franciscan Center works with the Safeway Pharmacy on Charles and 24th Street to help cover the cost of medicine / prescriptions. New prescriptions will be fully covered at that location. Transferred prescriptions will be discounted. Narcotics are not covered. Please call 410-467-5340 and chose option 2 for Client Services for more information and first steps.
Clients can receive assistance Monday – Thursday on the 2nd floor of the FC from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Birth Certificates
About
The Center will help people get Maryland Birth Certificates by supporting the application process and paying for the certificate. People can get help with birth certificates on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the FC. This help is only given one time in a person’s life with the FC and IAP.
