General Information
The Women’s Law Center gives legal help, runs educational hotlines, and speaks up for women’s rights to help keep women in Maryland safe, financially secure, and in control of their own bodies.
For staff safey, they can only meet with clients who have an appointment. They do not accept walk-ins.
-The Family Law Hotline runs weekdays from 9:30AM – 4:30PM at (1800) 845 – 8550.
-The Employment Law Hotline runs every Tuesday from 9:30AM – 1:00PM and every month they meet on the first and third Thursday nights from 5:00PM – 7:30PM at (1877) 422 – 9500.

The Protective Order Advocacy and Representation Project (POARP) helps people who have been hurt by someone they were close ( like a current or past boyfriend/girlfriend, current or ex-spouse) . About
In Maryland, family law is the set of rules that helps families with important things like getting married, getting divorced, deciding who takes care of children, and adopting kids. The Women’s Law Center offers free help with family law through three special programs.
1) The Family Law Hotline: call 1800-845-8550 Weekdays 9:30AM-4:30PM.
2) Collateral Legal Assistance for Survivors (CLAS): They give legal help to people who have been hurt by someone they were in a close relationship with. This includes help with divorce, child custody, and staying safe with protective orders. For more information call (410) 321-1040 or fill the Online Intake Form here.
3) Judicare Baltimore County: They help people in Baltimore County who don’t have a lot of money by giving them a lawyer for divorce and child custody cases. For more information call (410) 321-8761 or fill out the Online Intake Formhere.

The Multi-Ethnic Domestic Violence Project gives free help with immigration to people born in other countries who live in Maryland. They help if the person has been hurt by a partner, has been forced into sex trafficking, or has been sexually assaulted.
