Health and Wellness
About
They help people get the physical and mental health care they need in ways that respect their language and culture. Many asylum seekers and forced migrants have a hard time getting health care because of language problems, money issues, and other challenges. They help by setting up doctor visits, going with them to appointments, teaching about health in the U.S., and connecting them to counselors. They also offer group therapy, wellness classes, and visits from a mobile health clinic.
AWE also partners with HEAL Refugee Health and Asylum Collaborative to give clients access to healthcare and support that understands past hard experiences and treats people with respect. ClickHERE for more information.
