General Information
Based in Baltimore City, Soccer Without Borders Maryland helps kids that come from other countries to Baltimore City and County. These kids are new to America, like refugees and immigrants. They offer programs for kids in grades kindergarten through 12th grade after school and during the summer. Their program has diversity including Eritrean, Congolese, Syrian and Nepali youth, as well as Salvadoran, Ecuadorian, and Guatemalan students. Almost 40 out of every 100 kids are girls, who are playing a team sport for the first time. The program helps the kids learn to speak English better while playing soccer and doing other activities. It also helps them feel like they belong, can make choices for themselves, and can help the team. They become a strong group of friends through these programs.
