General Information
The Asylee Women Enterprise (AWE) helps immigrants or people seeking refuge in the US. They offer many services, including English classes, computer classes, parenting skills classes, and wellness activities. As of right now, the AWE is only accepting new clients that live in Baltimore City and arrived in the US in the past nine months. These restrictions do NOT apply to trafficking survivors and/or individuals seeking benefits application assistance only. AWE can help you schedule and attend your medical appointments, ensure you have access to interpretation, and introduce you to the US healthcare system. They also provide transportation assistance, health and wellness classes group therapy in collaboration with Intercultural Counseling Connection (the Connection), and referrals to trauma-informed healthcare providers.

AWE helps people through to the immigration legal system and the asylum process. They can also accompany you to immigration court hearings and ICE/ISAP check-ins. Call the center at 443-850-0627 for more information.

Individual and group counseling services are offered on-site and in the community through a network of specially trained therapists, free of charge. Mom and baby groups are offered throughout the year for trauma affected mothers.Call the center at 443-850-0627 for more information.

Individuals interested in accessing services should first attend an orientation (orientation dates posted on AWE website). AWE is unable to adequately serve walk-ins. Eligibility requirements are that you live in the Baltimore/DC area, you are still awaiting an asylum decision, and you are, at least, 18 years of age. Emergency housing is provided to asylum seekers. Priority is given to women and children. Everyone else is considered for housing on a case by case basis. Call the center at 443-850-0627 for more information.

The day program has moved to an online platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Contact Program Director, Beth Watkins, at beth@asyleewomen.org for the next join date for new clients.**
The program runs Monday through Thursday from 10am till 2:30. Classes include English as a Second Language, job readiness, computer classes, parenting classes and support, wellness classes and other activities.
Descripción del servicio: De lunes a jueves, de 10 a 2:30, ofrecemos clases de hospitalidad, inglés como segundo idioma, preparación para encontrar un trabajo, clases de computación, clases de habilidades para padres, clases del bienestar y otras actividades. Se ofrece un almuerzo caliente a los participantes al mediodía cada día de clase. Si bien muchos de nuestros servicios están orientados a los solicitantes de asilo, el programa de día está abierto a todos los refugiados e inmigrantes.
